WTE Development History
Timeline
The prime inventor of the patented system Mr.Rhine H. Jiang participated in the first join-project - the “Batch system” for Waste Tires.
The process rate was 0.33 ton/per hour and was the indirect heating system by electric thermal wire in 2000.
Mr. Rhine H. Jiang participated the first time addition of steam pyrolysis system in Belarus, Russia. It was a 2-kg/per hour lab unit in 2000.
From 2002 - 2004 designed and developed the Hospital Waste treatment system. The technologies were based on Plasma Technologies. Because of excess energy consumption the project was not smooth.
From 2005-2006 continued R & D development took place of the ECS technologies to solve the problem of energy consumption problem by Plasma Technologies. The first pyrolysis system was built in Taiwan called “SteamTec 500”, a 500kg per hour, one stage process system for treatment of Waste Rubber Tires only.
From 2006-2007, based on the SteamTec 500, was designed and built a Waste Tire pilot treatment plant for the waste recycling company in Taiwan called ECS 1000. The treatment rate of the plant was 1 ton per hour. It was the same technologies as SteamTec 500, was also one stage process without direct temperature control nor auto-cleaning function, without catalytic function, and only with a simple condenser, but had more improvement in off-gas cleaning than SteamTec 500. The plant was not the modular design; it occupied about 60m x 60m space. The oil was called “ diesel oil additive”. This “diesel oil additive” plant was sold “at a significant profit” to a diesel oil dealer company, Carbon black was a profitable by- product that was sold profitably to China.
Both proof of concept Steam Tec 500 and ECS 1000 plants are both still in working condition and operating profitably for their owners. Due to the signed NDA, we cannot disclose the owners’ names and other private information to a third party.
2006 Feb, we applied for the patent of our technologies in Taiwan and China.
From 2007-2009, we concentrated on the upgraded SteamTec technologies to ECS technologies. The new technologies focus specifically on various kinds of organic waste.
The unique character of the advanced ECS technologies is
1. Two stage reactor. The first stage is for decomposition. The second stage is for gasification, activate and washing carbon, and increase more fuel gas.
2. Full temperature control by low temperature steam.
3. Superheat steam for decomposition function and gasification.
4. Add catalyst function to remove the sulfur and chlorine material.
5. Special design for oil condensers.
6. Active carbon filter for fuel gas cleaning.
The new technology is called “ Continuous Fast Steam Thermal Decomposition”, is wholly different process from traditional pyrolysis.
Based on this unique application we applied for and received our U.S.A. patent for our technology in March 2007.
From 2009, we started the promotion of our technology in North America called “ QES”.
From 2010 we announced the new system called QES2000, ECS2000, QES 2000M. We applied for and received new patents in China and Taiwan.
From 2011, we formed a company in Hong Kong called “Wondertech International Energy Co. Ltd.”. We introduced our new system WTE 2000. We also created the new brand name called “ WTS 2000”, “ENVIX 2000”.
We improved the following function:
1. The reactor for easier maintenance.
2. The unique “2 x 40’ container module”.
3. Improved heat exchanger and temperature control.
From 2012, we improved the WTE 2000 to a more powerful new generation system Called “WTE G2500X”. In addition to the functions of WTE 2000, the WTE G2500X system including the addition of a special distillation system and oil purifier. The system will also include the optional items such as off-gas cleaner and catalyst function if so required by the client at extra cost.
About the development history of Pyrolysis:
Pyrolysis also called Thermo Decomposition; organic material after heated to 200-300 C will start to be decomposed.
The theory was developed and matured in 1958 at Bell Laboratory in USA.
From 1970 – 1980, technologies were mainly on Batch by Batch feed, Vacuum type experimental equipment in laboratories.
From 1980 – 1990, started to develop the pyrolysis equipment for waste plastics, max. 500kg/hr.
From 1990 – 2000, started to develop the pyrolysis equipment for waste rubber tires and coal in laboratories.
From 2000 – 2008, pyrolysis equipment of max. 1 ton/hr has been appeared in the market for waste plastics, waste rubber tires and coal, some in Batch Feed and some in Continuous Feed.
From 2009, pyrolysis technology became popular for all kinds of organic wastes and producing renewal energy.
